Will you accept?

So, it's been 2 years since my last post and I've truly missed writing. I don't know why I ever stopped. Perhaps because I'm lazy or perhaps because I was fighting God through a lot of difficult changes.

Today, while at work I offered a man a bottle of water. He immediately refused saying he doesn't have the money for it. Now, true the water is priced at $1, but when I offered it I had no intention of charging him that price. We as employees can drink the water for free and have the authority to hand the water out for free as well.  My mind immediately went to the concept of salvation. Jesus welcomes everyone in and offers them a free gift, but we as humans can sometimes reject it, thinking there will be some cost attached to this gift.  I mean, how could anyone offer me something that's free when there is a stated cost? Why would they do that? Is the water expired? Do you have too much and need to get rid of it? Is this some ploy to try and get me to buy more items due to your kindness? The answer to all of those questions is no. I simply want to bless you with water because it's hot outside and you're thirsty.

See... people immediately reject Jesus and the gift of salvation because there is NO way it can be 100% free without any sort of fine print. Or, perhaps they accept salvation, but expect there to be some form of payment they have to make to earn that salvation. It breaks my heart to see people reject and refuse the most amazing gift out there. Salvation-comes at no cost and is the most refreshing gift you can ever receive. Salvation sets us apart, it makes us whole and united to God the Father.

If you haven't received salvation I want to encourage you to do so today, knowing that Jesus hasn't put any restrictions or expectations on it  (even if the church or Christians say that He does) and if you have received salvation, but you're walking around expecting their to be some form of payment due-STOP.. you can never pay for your salvation and your works will NEVER be enough. Simply live for Christ (abide in Him, read your word, worship him. Turn your hearts toward Him-like a marriage) and everything else will fall into place.
